Louisville Says Goodbye To Longtime Local Musician Ralph Lampton

Services were held today at Owen Funeral Home in Jeffersontown for Mr. Ralph Lampton. Mr. Lampton was an accomplished jazz bassist who played with the Pat Patton Combo, Mel Owen, and Doc Severinsen. He was employed at the old Durlauf Music Store for over 30 years. He was a member of 1st Church of the Nazarene and a World War II Vet. Dozens of local musicians were in attendance. Ralph was 91 years old. I was honored to play piano for the service.
